It is always important to enjoy yourself on holiday, but you should always keep in mind the best way of getting the most out of your holiday for the best price. Here are some tips on how to get the most out of your summer trip:

When to book

Start looking right away! Last minute deals can be found a month or so before departureTravel outside of popular times such as school holidays and weekendsBe smart about the day you book your flight; prices can fluctuate a lot. The best days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday

Where to look

Utilise the free online holiday comparison engines that provide you with the ability to customise your package deals. It is important to check if there are any hidden costs within the package such as expensive airport transfers or expensive airport parking. This can have a drastic effect on your budget planner as it drastically lowers the amount of spending money you have to spend on the rest of the holiday

Don't book the first deal you see

Shop around; look at every variable possible, such as flights, accommodation, airport transfers. These can have drastic effects on money saving as it puts pressure on other areas of your budget for the holiday

Different accommodation

Look for cheaper options than a hotel room by looking for other forms of accommodation, such as staying in hostels or staying at a friend's house. Hostels are not what they used to be - they have drastically improved, whilst remaining a much cheaper option than hotels. A hostel may not always be your ideal choice of accommodation on a summer holiday, but it is a great money saving method, and gives you more breathing space when budgeting.

Always plan a budget before booking your holiday

Set a limit on what you can spend on each area of your holiday for example: shopping, restaurants and entertainment. If you spend more money than you'd budgeted for in one area fix your budget accordingly by spending less in other areas, so that your free budget planner can still be applicable to your holiday.

As you can see, there are some simple changes you can make to your summer holiday that can make a noticeable difference to the cost. All these small changes can add up to having a more enjoyable holiday experience, which is what a summer holiday is all about.
