Money Dashboard has announced the appointment of Stuart Sinclair, the former head of Tesco Personal Finance as Chairman.
Sinclair's career spans executive positions in financial services around the globe. After starting out as an economist and management consultant in Europe and the US, he became director of UK retail banking for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. After managing the joint venture between RBS and Tesco as chief executive of Tesco Personal Finance, he worked for General Electric in the UK and Shanghai, latterly as president and chief executive of GE Capital in China.
He then became president and chief operating officer of Bermuda-domiciled insurer Aspen Re, where he remained until April this year. Sinclair is also chairman of Ukrainian mortgage bank IMB and a non-executive director of both PruHealth and LV=.
Commenting on this appointment, Gavin Littlejohn, Money Dashboard's CEO and founder said ‘I am delighted to have Stuart join Money Dashboard as Chairman. His experience, leadership and vision will be crucial in helping develop this exciting new concept in consumer finance.'
The arrival of Sinclair follows the recent raising of a further £301k of equity, including £201k of additional angel equity and £100k of Scottish Seed Fund investment from Scottish Enterprise. This investment widened the share base with further expertise and deepened the commitment of existing shareholders. The Executive team (all investors) has now been established on a full time basis and the company is working towards an initial launch in mid 2009.
Sinclair commented "I am delighted to be joining Money Dashboard at such a formative point in its development. The concept is responding to a real demand in the market and I look forward to being able to bring my broad financial services experience to bear as the concept is developed and subsequently launched."
