Adding your accounts - Frequently asked questions
Do you support my bank and card companies?
We support 59 bank and credit card providers, including; HSBC, Natwest, Santander, Barclays, American Express and Barclaycard to name a few.
The full list of our currently supported providers can be found here.
In our aim to provide the best personal finance software, we are always willing to add new providers to Money Dashboard so please visit our forums where you can vote for new providers, or suggest a provider.
Why should I trust Money Dashboard?
On 13 Jan 18, the EU’s Payment Service Directive 2 (PSD2) was implemented, which guarantees you the legal right to ask us to help you manage your money.
This includes permitting you to share your online credentials with Account Information Service Providers (AIS) such as ourselves. For further information, please refer to the Financial Conduct Authority’s guidance here.
Looking after your finances is a big responsibility and security is at the forefront of everything we do. PSD2 further extends your rights by ensuring we keep your personal information private at all times.
If you're still having any doubts about the legitimacy of our service, we hope that our extensive media coverage will be of some comfort to you.
We were also awarded Best Personal Finance App 2017 at the British Bank Awards, based on 6,500 consumer reviews left on the Smart Money People website. Read why our users placed us at the top alongside household names like First Direct, Zopa and Virgin Money here.
Really, a free service, what’s the catch?
There's no catch!
Money Dashboard may offer suggestions for products and services like credit cards, home loan offers or insurance providers that can save you money. If you select a product based on our suggestion, Money Dashboard may receive a fee from the product provider.
Money Dashboard also provides insight and market research services to help companies better understand trends in consumer behaviour. We identify shifts in consumer preferences using anonymised spending information from groups of Money Dashboard users.
How is security managed?
Money Dashboard is a read-only application, which means it cannot be used for withdrawals, payments or to transfer your funds.
We use the same industry-standard security practices as many of the world’s leading banks. It’s our number 1 priority to make sure all your data is kept safe and secure.
We have had a full external audit of our security arrangements by Security Alliance (global provider of high quality, award winning security testing and monitoring services), that provides similar services for banks and governments.
Your login details are securely stored by Yodlee, who also store the login details for 80% of North America and is trusted by over 50 million consumers. They aggregate approximately 3 trillion dollars worth of transactions every day and are audited by all major banks and regulatory institutions in the US.
Does it really take only a couple of minutes to add an account?

To get started, simply Log in to your Money Dashboard account. You will be presented with a full list of all major UK bank account providers. Simply select your bank and we’ll guide you through what details are required to connect.
