James is Canadian eh! Spending the last 17 years in technology has definately gained him a large caffeine habit. Passionate about all things User Experience, Technology, the Internet - he gets a kick out of working with a strong team striving to do great things. James enjoys a weekly BBQ (regardless of weather, seasons and most acts of god) with his family just outside of Edinburgh.
Graduated with a degree in Geology first and then went back and did Information Technology after...spent 20 years in corporate life (IBM and a few others), before escaping into the real world nine years ago to help out smaller companies. Married with 3 grown up kids, a dog and some fish in the garden - and he's into music big time!
After qualifying as an actuary over 20 years ago, Alan quickly moved from number crunching to various senior roles in marketing and business development spanning stints in Scottish Equitable (Aegon), RBS and Barclays Wealth. Alan is married with a son and daughter and his interests include golf and travel. As part of a mid life crisis Alan is about to start 'Bagging Munroes'.
Having started out as a lawyer, Peter switched over to the life assurance industry, picking up experience in Sales, and then turned "gamekeeper" by moving to Compliance with Aegon UK. Peter has nearly retired as an unpaid taxi driver to his daughter and son, so is hopeful he can lose enough weight from triathlons and mountain biking to wriggle into his overtight leathers and go motorbiking again.
Andy qualified in applied physics way back when, but sold out to KPMG and has crunched the numbers ever since, mostly in marketing services. He’s picked up a CA and MBA along the way, a wonderful family (Madeleine and Matthew – look kids, you’re famous) and interests in football, running and motorcycles.
Stuart's previous roles include CEO of Tesco Personal Finance – building their 1st million customers, CEO of GE Consumer Finance, CEO of GE Capital UK and later China, Director of Retail at RBS and COO of Aspen RE. Current NXD roles include, Non-Exec of Pru-Health and Liverpool Victoria. Stuart holds a first class honours in economics from Aberdeen University and was both an international economist and then a management consultant in his early career. He lives between homes in London and Edinburgh.
David Robinson was the founder in 2001 and CEO of innovative life insurer Bright Grey, part of the Royal London Group. Bright Grey is now one of the leading protection insurers, ahead of many long-established brands. He previously had a long career at Scottish Provident where he had a range of Executive positions covering Actuarial, Marketing, Sales, Compliance and Strategy roles. David is married with two “grown-up” children. He spends his free time planning his extensive garden, playing squash, skiing, playing the piano and running the occasional marathon – most recently the Jungfrau marathon in Switzerland.
An early investor in Money Dashboard, Jeremy is the UK Legal & Compliance Director at the retail bank ING Direct, having recently moved there from his role as a banking and regulatory Partner in a Scottish law firm. He has wide ranging legal, compliance and corporate governance experience. Prior to that he was Head of Legal at Lloyds TSB Scotland where he was an FSA authorised person for anti-money laundering and compliance oversight and Company Secretary of Lloyds TSB Group. Jeremy is married with a daughter and three sons and lives in the Scottish Borders. He spends his free time playing hockey, squash, running and coaching mini-rugby as well as collecting wine.
Ian is a senior technology officer and is currently Head of IT at Adam and Company, in the RBS private banking division. Ian has a strong practical knowledge of financial products, continuity processes and current security procedures. Ian is married with “grown-up” daughters and lives in Livingston, Scotland. His interests include astronomy and reading.
