Building a system that users can be confident in is one of our core objectives as a business. In designing and building our Personal Finance Management solution we have invested heavily in security - both physical and digital.
We know security is important to you so we have compiled a number of FAQs to help you understand more about the security within Money Dashboard. However if you do have any further questions please send us an email to support@moneydashboard.com
Passwords are auto generated, they are not created by one person. This means that no Money Dashboard employees' have access to your password.
Only you know your username, password and security word. No Money Dashboard employee has access to your password. No one can access your account unless you provide someone with this information.
The Money Dashboard personal finance tool uses two factor authentication to provide you with extra security. That means you have to provide two different things in order to access your personal Money Dashboard. When you sign into Money Dashboard you will be asked to enter your username and password. Before you get final access to the Money Dashboard service, you will also be asked for your security word that you setup when you first registered. Only you know this code and your password. No Money Dashboard employee has access to your password. No one can access your account unless you provide someone with this information.
All system emails are generated automatically and no one at any point, including ourselves, have full access to your login credentials. If you have forgotten your username, password or security word, these can be requested and sent to you automatically.
Nobody at Money Dashboard will have access to your bank account or credit details. Nor will the Money Dashboard tool store your bank account details. The only place your account details and transaction details come together is on your desktop when you log on.
After the initial storage, your details will only ever be transmitted to your bank in an encrypted format. The information is securely fed through Yodlee, the financial aggregator system, so that you can see all your transactions whenever you log on to your Money Dashboard.
Yodlee is renowned for its security and its clients include such massive names as the Bank of America, Paypal and the US gold reserve at Fort Knox.
Many banks are making changes to their terms and conditions and their advice and guidelines, to take into account the use of secure personal finance software tools like Money Dashboard. After all, it's in their best interest to make sure you manage your money as best you can.
Your banking details are stored in our highly secure Tier 3 Data Centre with 24/7 physical security measures provided by a leading hosting provider. Keeping your data there means its protected at all times with no unauthorised access that provides enhanced physical security, fire protection and electronic shielding.
The transmission of data is protected using industry recognised encryption standards. Users' passwords are transmitted and stored in encrypted format at all times.
The Money Dashboard tool will download and store your transaction data on an ongoing basis, but it will make sure that no personal details are attached. That means that even in the unlikely event that the security of the Money Dashboard site were to be compromised, all a hacker could see would be details of a series of bank transactions, with no record of the individual or bank account that made them.
Money Dashboard offers you valuable insight and analytical tools to help you better understand your money…but Money Dashboard is a "read only" service. That means you can only view and organize your money with Money Dashboard, you cannot move money between—or out of—your current accounts, savings accounts and credit card accounts.
We provide bank-level security. Communications are protected with Strong Encryption through Secure Socket Layers (SSL / https ) provided by Verisign. We use certificates with Extended Validation (the green address bar) with a 128-bit minimum encryption. This means that your data between you and our systems are protected at all times.
All of our services are protected by managed firewalls. This means that we employ a leading security provider to watch 24/7 our firewalls and make sure they are protected. This includes Active Intrusion Detection Systems and proactive monitoring at every level. Our services are reviewed and audited externally on a regular basis.
Money Dashboard has been built as a read-only site. That means it's impossible for you or anyone else to make any changes to your bank account through Money Dashboard’s personal finance software. The only place you can actually move money or change any bank account details is through the secure website of your bank.
Your banking details aren’t stored by the site and the only place your transactional data and personal data come together is on your desktop when you log on.
Using Silverlight does offer an additional level of security. To read more on this visit our Product News blog.
