How it works

Quickly see your financial picture as Money Dashboard aims to automatically categorise each of your transactions with its tagging feature. For transactions which are not categorised we’ve made it as easy as pie for you to do it yourself.

Money Dashboard includes a set of standard categories or tags organised into Groups such as:

• Household - Broadband, Council tax, Rent, Phone, TV, Utilities and Groceries

• Lifestyle - Clothing, Dining/drinking, DIY, Holidays and Gadgets

• Transport - Fuel, Travel and Maintenance

• Wealth - Loans, Pension contributions, Mortgage payments and Savings

The beauty of the Money Dashboard tagging system is that it’s flexible and easy to use, so if you want to change a tag from Groceries to Fuel (because you bought your petrol at Tesco), then you just pick a new tag from the list. 

With Money Dashboard you can also:

• Change the name of an existing tag such as Fuel to Petrol

• Create a new tag such as gym membership or create tags to cover all the different costs of having kids

• Create a new Group for your tags, such as if you’re getting married and want to view your wedding spending separately, you can create a specific Group

Why do it?

Once you have categorised all your transactions you can quickly see what’s what.  So if you’ve been living life in the fast lane and overspending, all will become clear. Or if everything is under control and you’re a good saver, you can see how well your plans are progressing.

Most important of all, categorising your spending and income helps you keep track of your finances on an ongoing basis and helps you to set realistic budgets going forward.
