Be a pioneer. All your personal finance in one place.
If Money Dashboard helps me to enjoy my time at university, leave with as little debt as is humanly possible and go travelling at the end of it all then I would say Money Dashboard is the best thing to happen to students since the glory days of full grants.
Money Dashboard takes security and privacy very seriously and it is at the core of everything we do.
Well of course, it wasn’t that simple really. In a pretty tough economic environment, Gavin had to convince investors that it was a good idea too. But not to be deterred, he carried out some in-depth market research to demonstrate that there was indeed a huge demand for the Money Dashboard concept. This helped him gain backing from a number of business angels and enterprise organisations, and to assemble a talented team with the passion and drive that was needed to bring Money Dashboard to the market. And in 2008 Microsoft took Money Dashboard onto its Biz Spark accelerator programme which provided access to more valuable know how.
Today Money Dashboard is based just outside Edinburgh and managed by a team of experts from across the worlds of finance and technology. We are committed to making it as easy as possible for people to manage their money efficiently and proud of our ground breaking product. Our overall aim is to help people stay in stay in control of their finances, plan for their future and feel secure.
As part of this we aim to help our users save money and increase their personal wealth too. That’s why we are always on the lookout for top tips and great financial deals from a range of sources. We have a policy not to bombard users with too many suggestions though. So we only highlight products we believe are a really good fit, based on the information we have. We only do this occasionally. And we only focus on products that are simple to apply for online.
To make it as easy as possible for our users to compare products when they are considering buying online, we’ve linked up with some well respected comparison sites. We decided to do so when some of our extensive consumer research suggested that users would find this a very useful feature indeed. We also provide direct links for those products that we believe are great deals, but don’t appear on the comparison sites.
If any of our users decide to buy a product via the Money Dashboard site, we may receive commission. If we do, this is used to support the future development of Money Dashboard. But we never promote one product or provider over another. And there is absolutely no obligation for users to buy the products we suggest. That’s because Money Dashboard is totally impartial and first and foremost exists to help people manage their finances. This said, we hope that users recognise that this aspect of our service is intended to help improve their financial situation.
In this day and age, where everything moves so fast, many people seem to view managing their finances as a necessary evil, something they don’t really have time for. But we think that planning for a financially secure future should be quick, easy and fun. We hope that all our users thoroughly enjoy the Money Dashboard experience and benefit from it too.
